فهم ورثة الله (الجزء الأول)

Well, welcome back. Let’s turn to Matthew 25, please. We’re talking about rewards and how they’re very personal and intimate between you and the Father.

And there’s another principle that we want to look at in Matthew 25, where Jesus Christ is teaching a parable about the future. And he’s talking about individuals being given something and doing something with it. One is given five talents and brings back ten.

One is given two talents, brings back four. And one is given one talent and buries it out of fear. And that’s not commended.

See, the parable is teaching God starts by giving you something and those that use it properly are rewarded. Those who through fear bury it and do nothing are not rewarded. And Jesus Christ says here in Matthew 25, 29, for unto everyone, verse 29, for unto everyone that hath shall be given and he shall have abundance.

That’s right. But from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. Now you can’t lose your Holy Spirit.

Something that is given to you by God, we should do something with. That’s the point. And I know in the parable, the individual who buried the talent loses the talent.

But in our case, not specifically applied to Christianity, because our inheritance is reserved in heaven. So the point that he’s making in Matthew 25 is that we are to do something with what God gives us. And when we do something with what God gives us, he can even give us more.

That’s the point of Matthew 25, 29 and that parable. God is interested in what you do with what he’s given you. And he’s given us all the measure of the gift of Christ.

We all have it. That’s our potential. And now we’re going to move into a practical category in terms of rewards.

Let’s turn to 2nd Timothy, please. Chapter 2. It says, 2nd Timothy 2.5. And if a man, this would be anyone, also strive for the masteries, this is an athletic term, yet he is not crowned except he strive lawfully. He’s not crowned.

And it’s referring to an athlete. It’s not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. So God has set up parameters that are in the Word that we actually can learn about being crowned, receiving these rewards.

Look at 1st Corinthians chapter 3, please. One of those parameters is God rewards us when we build on the foundation of Jesus Christ. In 1st Corinthians chapter 3, verse 10, according to the grace of God which is given unto me, the Apostle Paul writes, as a wise master builder.

It’s the Greek word architecton. We get the word architect. A wise master builder.

I have laid the foundation and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid which is Jesus Christ.

الإيمان في العمل

Not just Jesus, not just Christ, Jesus Christ. The one that was humiliated and suffered for our sins but then was raised from the dead and seated at the right hand of God. The complete picture.

That’s the foundation we build on and that’s how we get rewarded. Look at this. Now it says, now if any man build upon this foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble.

Well, these are all earthly materials. They’re representing that no matter whether you use earthly materials that are valuable or earthly materials that are not valuable, hay and stubble perhaps. It doesn’t really matter.

You need to use spiritual material. You can’t use anything earthly to build on this foundation. It goes back to our identity in Christ and not being tethered to this world in our earthly identity.

Look, every man’s work shall show, shall be made manifest. Every man’s work shall be made manifest. For the day shall declare it because it shall be revealed by fire.

Now this is not talking about the lake of fire. This is talking about fire just being a purifying agent. And the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.

If any man’s work abide which he has built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. Pretty simple. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss, but he himself shall be saved, yet so is by fire.

In other words, you can’t lose those rewards and God doesn’t hold things against you. It’s just our option is to add and build like in Matthew 25. The principle is you continue to build on your salvation.

You make it effective into your life and God rewards that. That’s right. Look at 1st Peter, please.

1st Peter chapter 1. In 1st Peter chapter 1, it says in verse 3, blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope.
